Great Climate Race is loo

king for an outgoing and organized individual to work
with volunteers and manage a portion of our email and social media
responsibilities.

The
Great Climate Race is a new walking/running event series focused on raising
money for local renewable energy projects. Our second annual event is on Sunday
October 30th in Vancouver. We have future events planned in Vancouver and
elsewhere and if it’s a good fit there is the possibility of this becoming a
full time permanent position.

We
do outreach and education year round. This job entails organizing volunteers,
coordinating educational talks, running information tables at expos and
concerts and generally supporting the Great Climate Race team.

The
ideal person would be passionate about climate change solutions and it’s a bonus
if you are an avid runner but not a requirement. We need someone who is
available to work on weekend and evenings for outreach events when needed.

We
want someone who will take a sense of ownership of helping us reach our
outreach and event registration targets and will work closely with other key
members of the team to reach our goals.

We
work out of a shared workspace which you will have access to for meetings and
working together when needed.

A
driver’s license and access to an vehicle is an asset. We can provide access to
a car-share membership.

Familiarity
with climate change and renewable energy (orientations and updates will be
provided)
Interest
in fitness and running is also helpful
