Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS: •1-2 years’ experience in events coordination,
logistics or other related experience •Post-secondary education in
administration, event planning, marketing, public relations or corporate
communications •Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines •Strong
organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize and attention to
detail •Ability to multi-task diverse challenges at one time •Excellent written
and oral communications skills •Demonstrated technical competence in Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Social Media and Outlook •Enthusiastic, self-starter with the
ability to work independently •CPR, First Aid training considered an asset
RESPONSIBILITIES: •Reporting to the Supervisor, Event Services, Mississauga
Celebration Square, the Events Assistant will: •Assist with event logistics;
•Onsite event coordination; •Performs other related duties as required
including but not limited to; •Conduct general correspondence with vendors,
potential performers, etc; •Assist with Celebration Square social media;
•Assist in updating event documents including; event plans, site plans, contact
lists, event evaluation; •Provide administrative support that includes:
photocopying, faxing, filing, phone reception; •Respond to Celebration Square
inquires and complaints by phone, e-mail, social media and maintains a log;
•Maintain various databases •Develop and maintain event attendance tracking
spreadsheets; •Must be able to work shifts up to 13 hours •Shifts will be on
weekends May-October, with occasional weekday/evening shifts •Must be available
to work statutory holidays (Family Day, Victoria Day, Canada Day, New Year’s
Eve).
Additional Info:
The Events Assistant will work with the Mississauga Celebration
Square Team to facilitate the execution of events. This position is primarily
focused on onsite event coordination.
