We are looking for volunteers to conduct English classes via Skyke for children and youth ages 6 to 18. This task requires volunteers who are comfortable speaking the local Indian language – Tamil (apart from English), who enjoy working with children, have a passion to teach, are dedicated to our mission and willing to work together with a large group of international volunteers. In addition, a commitment of at least 1 academic year (excluding summer vacation) and 2 hours per week is a must.
All classes will take place online via Skype. The duration of each class will be about an hour. Classes are scheduled to take place twice a day, at 7 AM and 7 PM India time (IST). Applicants must be willing to teach at one of these time slots. Volunteers will be given a short orientation prior to engagement. Curriculum and lesson plans for the classes are in continuous development, and volunteers will contribute their inputs to this process.

This project aims to teach abandoned and destitute children at an orphanage in Kanyakumari in South India.
