Tea Group Investment Company (TGIC), a company that has invested in tea factories and tea plantations in Rwanda would like to recruit a suitable candidate to the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO).
The main responsibilities are as follows:
• To oversee the management of some TWO tea companies –under the guidance of the CEO, and to see that the existing business plans are implemented within allocated timelines.
• To administer the purchasing for investment & operating budgets as and when the needs are expressed by the tea companies.
• To coordinate the sales & marketing of the teas, by advising tea brokers in Mombasa as to what to sale on the auction or directly to private buyers. And finally to be responsible for all revenue collection.
• To administer the treasury & finances related to both the tea estates and deal with banks and other financial institutions.
• To prepare annual budgets (both investment & operating budgets), and to supervise their implementation.
• To oversee the accounting process & procedures and to compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement as required by management and board of directors.
• Prepare and set up procedure manuals for Tea Group Investment Company operations.
• To liaise with Register of Companies, Rwanda Revenue Authority, Rwanda Development Board and any other institutions to ensure that TGIC and the tea companies are receiving appropriate treatment and that they are complying with Rwandan laws and regulations.
• To do any other job as may be assigned by CEO from time to time.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or Finance /Accounting or A first degree in Agricultural Economics (Post graduate would be an advantage).
• Experience of at least 5years in relevant financial management at managerial level.
• Excellent conceptually analytical and writing skills.
• Practical experience in tea industry would be an added advantage.
• Ability to coordinate and work under pressure
• Strong oral and written communication skills in either English or French.
