Systems
Engineer – Defence and Aerospace – Canberra

We are seeking a
Systems Engineer to be based in Canberra, this position will require experience
with either Avionics, Electrical/Electronic Systems or Communication,
Navigation, Surveillance, Air Traffic Management system upgrades.

The role will
involve working on a high profile Defence Project. Ideally candidates with have
a minimum of five years systems engineering experience on Defence projects.
Avionics or related systems engineering / test & integration experience
within the Defence Industry coupled with experience in project management would
be beneficial.

Candidates must have
strong analytical and problem solving skills and must be eligible for a
security clearance.  It is essential that the successful applicant has
excellent stakeholder engagement/management skills (both written and verbal).

 Responsibilities:

• Provide
  information and advice in relation to Identification Friend or Foe (IFF)
  Specifications, Secondary Surveillance Radar Mode S and ADS-B Domestic and
  International Regulations and Standards
• Development
  and review of V&V and T&E plans and procedures for ADF platforms
• Liaison
  with internal and external stakeholders
• Provide
  subject matter expert advice on related systems
• Undertake
  technical information reviews and investigations
• Experience
  with Defence Systems Engineering processes and/or Technical Regulation
  Frameworks (TRFs)
• Provide
  engineering and technical support for design and integration tasks

Requirements:

• Degree
  in a relevant Engineering field or significant experience within an ADF
  TRF to gain Engineering Authority
• Strong
  Avionics, Systems or CNS/ATM Engineering experience
• Working
  knowledge of Engineering standards

The
role requires that applicants can immediately meet the requirements for an
AGSVA Defence clearance, therefore applicants must be Australian
citizens. Past or current holders of a Baseline/NV1/NV2 clearance will be
highly regarded.
