Swisscontact is currently implementing
an SDC (Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation) project in Rwanda and is
looking for a dynamic professional to join its team in its Kigali office as:
HEAD OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
Reporting to the Program Director, the
Head of Finance & administration is a senior staff member and is supported
by accountants and cashier.
Required
profile                           
  • Be
    a professional with at least a Bachelor degree in accounting/financewith a
    minimum of 10 years working experience;Possession of professional
    qualification – ACCA, CA, etc. would be an advantage;
  • A
    good command of French is a must and, a working knowledge of Englishand
    Kinyarwanda is recommended;
  • An
    excellent level of communication and negotiation skills;
  • A
    good level of IT skills and related software packages (Accounting);
  • A
    high capacity to effectively work independently or under minimum
    supervision;
  • A
    high level of integrity.
Scope of responsibilities (Functions and
responsibilities will include but not be limited to 🙂
Area of finance
  • Supervise
    and coordinate the work of accountants locally and in the sub region
    (including DRC South Kivu and Burundi)
  • Ensure
    compliance with financial principles and regulations of Swisscontact
  • Provide
    advice and support the Program Director on all finance matters, including
    procurement and budget monitoring
  • Advise
    on local taxation law
  • Meeting
    deadlines in preparation and submission of financial reports to head
    office
    • Conduct
      internal audit and ensure compliance to financial procedures
Area of administration
  • Drafting
    of contracts and lease agreements with partners, service providers and
    consultants
  • Managepension
    fund and contributions in collaboration with relevant institutions
  • Knowledge
    of labour law and HR management
  • Administration
    of human resources including maintaining personnel filesand/induction
    orientation procedures 
  • Administration
    of medical and other insurance and pension schemes
