Summary:To provide efficient
and effective cleaning support to the cafe, including ensuring that the
security and general appearance of the building and surroundings are maintained
in accordance with the required st

andards.

Key
Responsibilities and Tasks

Emptying
waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to
designated collection points.
Sweeping
floors with brushes or dust control mops.
Mopping
floors with wet or damp mops.
Suction
cleaning carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets.
Using
electrically powered scrubbing and polishing machines to burnish, scrub,
polish and spray clean floors (after receiving proper instruction and
training).
To
dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external
surfaces of cupboards, shelves and fitments.
To
replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required
and report the inventory to the Social Enterprise accountant for more
purchase.
To
clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and drinking
fountains.
To
undertake wall washing or inside windowpane cleaning to a height no
greater than body height plus an arm’s extension from floor level.
Wash
and store all tableware and kitchenware.
Keep
dish room (kitchen room) clean and organized.
Wash
dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by
hand
Clean
garbage cans with water or steam.
Place
clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in the right area.
Barista
responsibilities on as needed basis

Skills
and Abilities

Fluent
in Kinyarwanda
Able
to work weekends and evenings.
Highly
skilled in cleaning and emptying waste containers, and eliminating debris
from the premises to designated area.
Thorough
understanding of using different tools and chemicals use in cleaning process
Extremely
organized and self-motivated.
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
Hands-on
experience in emptying and cleaning ash tray and screening sand urns
Demonstrated
ability to wash, clean and utensils.
Work
as a team member with other staff.
Learn
and apply training instruction.
Perform
tasks with accuracy.
Strong
attention to detail.
