This study investigated the
knowledge of married couples to sickle cell disease, through the stated
research questions. It was discovered that most married couple have some knowledge
of sickle cell disease, about 75% respondent agreed to the fact that they have
heard of the disease.

said yes to the fact that sickle cell disease can be prevented, while few
believed that it can’t be prevented. Majority of the respondent still believes
that patient or children with sickle cell disease need not to be given the
chance to education due to frequent ailment and its cost in treatment. Also few
respondent do not have an idea of the right combination of genotype that is
suitable for intending married couples.
