Stellar is proud to be assisting a key player within the mining industry in their search for a new recruit to their Technical Services team. This is a pivotal Senior Mining Engineer role based at an open cut coal mine located in a prime Hunter Valley location.

As the Senior Mine Engineer your responsibilities will include:
• Providing knowledge and leadership in open cut mine planning and scheduling primarily long term.
• Liaising with other senior technical staff to ensure the smooth interface between departments.
• Studying investigations to resolve particular mine technical issues.
• Ensuring safety standards and procedures are in line with statutory requirements.
• Actively reviewing current mining operations performance against projected production targets.
• Leading and directing the more junior members of the team.
• Managing site in accordance with the companies mining policies and procedures.
Our client is looking a Senior Mining Engineer with:
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
• 5 + years mining engineering experience
• Proven expertise in open cut mining
• Coal experience is a preference
• High level of technical competence
• Strong mine planning and scheduling expertise
• Excellent oral and written communicational skills
• The ability to work independently and produce impressive results
