in the Milk River drainage basin in Saskatchewan. Working with a cutting edge
single comprehensive action plan and an eclectic group of stakeholders, you can

The Executive Director is critical to the start-up and success of the new
organization, SOD CAP. This position will be making recommendations to the
board about actions SOD CAP shoul

d take to support the recovery of multiple
species at risk in southwestern Saskatchewan. Creating partnerships and strong
alliances with local land users to help them be successful in implementing
programs and board priorities within the action plan is a major responsibility.
Project management, fundraising and report writing are some of the major
administrative responsibilities of the position. This position provides a rare
opportunity to build an organization from the ground up.

SOD CAP is a new not-for-profit organization that is a part of a leading edge
strategy dealing with recovery strategies for multiple species at risk in a
specific, unique and beautiful geographic region of Saskatchewan, Milk River
drainage basin.

The best Executive Director will have a background and experience in resource
management. The Executive Director will develop pilot projects or other
initiatives related to existing funded projects (the First Step and Greater
Sage-Grouse stewardship programs). They must also have enough understanding of
recovery strategies and environmental issues to write proposals for new
programs and oversee the implementation of programs on SOD CAP’s behalf. The
Executive Director will be able to connect and create strong working
relationships with a variety of people, eg: corporate board members,
environmentalists, oilfield and service company staff, ranchers, etc. Prior
experience working with a board and having administration experience is
preferred. A valid Saskatchewan driver’s licence and access to a reliable
vehicle is required. This exciting position requires commitment and energy to
achieve short term start up objectives and build the organization.
