Background:
SOS Children´s Villages Rwanda is an independent,
nongovernmental social development organization. The Organization supports
hundreds of orphaned and vulnerable children in 4 field locations of Kigali,
Byumba, Kayonza and Gikongoro. SoS Rwanda applies a one program approach in its
education, family strengthening, health and community development programs,
that support a holistic approach to development and emergency programming in
the interest of the child. In this regard, SOS seeks to recruit a competent
Programme Development Director.

Summary of the Role:
The Programme Director is responsible for
supporting the National Director in the overall management and development of
SOS programmes and facilities in Rwanda. He or she helps guide the
implementation of the SOS mission in Rwanda, leading key management staff and
other co-workers, and ensuring SOS standards, policies and principles are
realised. The Programme Director assists in leading the strategic planning and
budgeting process, and supports the National Director in the effective
management of financial and other resources, staff development, fund-raising,
and public representation and advocacy.

Qualifications and experience:
- Advanced degree in a relevant subject area,
e.g. development studies, public policy & planning, social sciences,
education, project management, leadership etc. - At least a years proven strategic and
programme management experience within the context of an integrated
development and humanitarian work in Rwanda or the Great lakes Region - Proven leadership and people management
skills, with at least 3-5 years management - Some previous experience working with child
rights, orphans and/or vulnerable children - Expertise in developing and implementing
Quality Management / M & E Systems especially working with results
frameworks and Logframes. - Positive and professional approach. Ability to
work independently, self-organize, use initiative, keeps commitments and
meets deadlines. - Excellent written and verbal communication
skills in English and French,
