Sonepar BlueWay develops and executes energy conservation programs for Utility and corporate partners that drive smart and profitable solutions.
The Small Business Lighting program, part of the province wide Save One Energy initiative is a means to promote energy conservation to the small commercial sector resulting in the uptake of more energy efficient technologies. It identifies and implements in-store energy management measures that encourage the small commercial sector to reduce energy use, save on utility costs, and improve environmental health. Small businesses that qualified by an assessment are eligible for $1,000 of free lighting retrofits, at no cost to the business. The program incorporates outreach and education, sales based approach, laptop assisted energy audit calculations, and coordinating the installation of additional energy efficient products.
Role of the Customer Service Representative (Call Centre)
The Customer Service Representative’s main responsibilities include:
• Introduce and sell business owners on the concept of energy efficiency and the specific offerings of the program (fee assessment and $1,000 in lighting retrofits and installation).
• Work independently and as part of a team to engage small commercial businesses in energy conservation discussions
• Excellent phone skills and manner.
• Working with Assessors to manage routes and schedule.
The Representative will report to the local Program Coordinator and will need to be very organized, reliable and motivated. This individual will need to work well on his/her own as well as part of a team.
The representative will cover a large territory and must be willing to be flexible to travel frequently.
Qualifications:
Education: Completion of a post-secondary degree.
Vehicle: Access to a reliable late model vehicle will be required
Safety equipment: All staff members are required to wear CSA approved work boots on all job sites.
Skills Required:
• Successful candidates must possess a professional demeanour and be comfortable leading a sales pitch, providing education and making cold calls
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, highly organized, attentive to detail, ability to work independently or as part of a team, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for working within the environment industry
• Previous sales experience preferred
• Knowledge and comfort using smart phones
• Multilingual ability considered an asset
• Technical knowledge of lighting systems would be an asset

Type of Employment: Full-time contract till December 2012
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (hours may need to be flexible)
Wage: $13.00 per hour
+ Additional achievable and generous performance bonus
