for Family Health (SFH) is a non-profit organization in Rwanda. It is the
largest social marketing organization in Rwanda, with five regional offices
across the country. Working in partnership within the public and private
sectors, and harnessing the power of the markets, SFH provides life-saving
products, clinical services and social and behavior change communications(SBCC)
that empower the world’s most vulnerable populations to lead healthier lives.

action and an aversion to bureaucracy; decentralization and empowering our
staff at the national and district level; and a long term commitment to the
people we serve. SFH implements diverse public health interventions in
HIV/AIDS, reproductive health, malaria, and maternal and child health including
nutrition. SFH’s activities ranges from product sales and distribution to
social and behavior change communication, advocacy, reproductive health
research, and community mobilization. SFH’s donor platform is USAID, Global
Fund, DOD and other numerous donors.
SFH
Rwanda seeks to recruit a Warehouse Assistant who will carry out general
warehouse duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager. S/he must be aware of,
and follow, work with other warehouse assistants in order to serve all requests
and warehouse safety procedures. The warehouse assistant shall be a hands-on
staff at the warehouse and he will be supervised by the Warehouse Manager.
ROLES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific
responsibilities include:
  1. Ensuring
    the correct layout of the warehouse in consultation with the warehouse manager;
  2. Accurately
    recording stock movement;
  3. Adhering
    to commodity-specific storage requirements;
  4. Monitoring
    the temperature of different areas within the storeroom;
  5. Following
    principles of First-to-Expire, First-Out (FEFO) during stock movement as
    well as Minimizing stock losses;
  6. Ensuring
    that fire safety equipment is available and accessible;
  7. Storing
    supplies in a dry, well-lit, well-ventilated storeroom out of direct
    sunlight;
  8. Ensuring
    that identification labels, expiry dates, and lot numbers are clearly visible;
  9. Helping
    and assisting the packers by providing them the packing materials as well
    as keeping an eye on them;
  10. Helping
    in inventory activity for example when there is a heavy object to move;
  11. To
    work with warehouse assistant to attend to all request that come to the
    warehouse;
  12. Helping
    in receiving all goods in warehouse by verifying their quantities and
    quality;
  13. Offloading
    and loading goods and items in warehouse;
  14. Ensuring
    and maintaining cleanness in the warehouse;
  15. Ensuring
    security inside the warehouse.
REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS
:
  • Must
    have completed Advanced level education and should have been performing
    similar activities in a health related organization;
  • Should
    have a good knowledge of FEFO system;
  • Should
    have excellent communication skills,
  • Fluency
    in Kinyarwanda and either French or English.*Proficiency in both French
    and English a plus.
This
candidate must be a highly motivated, proactive, and organized. S/he will
be outcome oriented, able to manage multiple priorities at a time, and able to
keep moving with minimal day to- day supervision.
