SLM RNC Engineer (kelly)

Operation and maintenance of BSS 3G Huawei network at the level of tier 1 and tier 2, with special emphasis in Huawei RNC and NodeB. Main interface with Huawei Technical support regarding technical and operation matters. Support local teams in technical competence development.

Execution of Huawei BSS corrective/preventive maintenance activities.
• Current network is comprised of: Huawei WCDMA RNC BSC6800 and NodeB BTS3900 and PCS3900A.
• Field BTS preventive and corrective maintenance is being done by field teams, so BSS engieneers to provide remote support, guidelines and recommendations.
• Specialized corrective maintenance
• Will provide support to Fault, Performance and Configuration Management and NPO activities when they are required by corresponding teams.
• Liase with NMC (NOC) for escalations to Huawei 3rd tier support (equipments) for more specialized support.

Key Tasks:
• Major Networks Elements supported are: Huawei RNCs and NodeB (BTS3900 and PCS3900A).
• Specialized support (troubleshooting, diagnostics, etc.) to NOC monitoring and field maintenance teams
• Correct Radio network faults in and performance degradations as per SLA requirements
• Escalation point from First Line Maintenance and Monitoring for Huawei RNC and NodeB related issues.
• Working on RNC daily maintenance checks and remote NodeB as well.
• In depth analysis and troubleshooting of Performance Management report in conjunction with CM/PM team
• Responsible for co-operating with the technical support (upgrades, faults) of 3rd party equipment and Care
• 24/7 availability in case of major or critical faults or upgrades and retrofits.
• Provides technical support to CM & Planning to plan/execute network HW/SW changes (i.e. rehomings (RNC/NodeB and MGW/RNC)
• Liaise with PM/CM, field teams and subcontractors, to correct radio Network faults and performance degradations as per Service Level Agreement requirements
• Acceptances of the RNC from delivery on or before handover to operations
• Support to the remote and on-site restoration of network element functionality as defined in the agreed escalation plans
• Test plan for call, functionality, etc., after changes. Verification of test results after changes.
• Investigations major outages and support management report writing.
• Periodic SW backup excecution/recommendations.
• Recommendation regarding spare parts inventories.
• Faul report generation, analysis and recommendation
• License management.• Report generation on faults and alarms.
• On the job training to internal and external (subcontractor) teams
