About SFAR: Student Financing Agency for Rwanda (SFAR) is a semi-autonomous agency with overall responsibility for implementing and managing all student financing schemes in Rwanda.
Types of Scholarships Available:
#. Full scholarships with no Government of Rwanda supplement
#. Full scholarships but Government of Rwanda offers a supplement
#. Partial scholarships (Government of Rwanda covers part)
#. Rwandans allowed to pay as nationals on tuition
SFAR Scholarship Application Process:
Cooperation scholarships are channeled through MINAFFET, MINEDUC then to SFAR for processing.
Announcements are made on SFAR website (www.sfar.gov.rw), radio and sometimes in news papers.
Interested candidates submit their applications to SFAR.
Some times letters are sent to different institutions for nomination of candidates.
SFAR Scholarship Selection Process
Very often, selection is done jointly between SFAR and those who offer the scholarships.
However, SFAR is sometimes requested to do it unilaterally.
