Job Title: Senior Procurement Officer
Salary Scale: LF 3
Contract Period: 4 Years Contract, renewable on satisfactory performance. Initially the incumbent will serve six [6] months probation
Reports to: Commission Secretary
Main Purpose: To facilitate a transparent procurement system for the Commission.
AGE: 32 years and above
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Commission Secretary for performing the following duties:-
• Planning and controlling procurement services
• Developing a procurement Plan
• Putting in place a prudent procurement system.
• Providing timely technical advice to Accounting Officer, Contract
• Committees and Head of Department.
• Evaluating procurement requirements and recommending appropriate procedures. Preparing periodic reports and providing secretarial services to the Contract Committees.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCE
Applicants should be Ugandans holding either of the following categories of qualifications:
• An Honors Degree in Procurement/purchasing and supplies, BBA, B.com and a Masters degree in Procurement/purchasing and supplies, Business Administration, Commerce
• Full professional Membership/Certificate i.e. Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) from a recognized Institution.
• Very good working knowledge of IFMS
• Applicants in all categories should possess knowledge of computer applications.
• Membership of a relevant Professional Institution shall be an added advantage.
• Applicants should have at least six [61 years experience in procurement management in a public or large private sector organization three [3] of which must have been served at as Procurement Officer or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization,
• In addition, he or she should have well developed interpersonal skills, and capable of working as a member of the Senior Management Team
