Search for Common Ground is seeking a Community
Outreach Coordinator to be based in its Kigali office. SFCG is an NGO operating
in 30 countries around the world whose mission is to transform the way individuals,
groups and societies deal with conflict away from adversarial approaches,
toward cooperative solutions.
Key responsibilities include :
- Overall coordination and supervision of SFCG’s
outreach activities including training, listening clubs, and participatory
theater ; - Lead trainings in conflict transformation,
leadership, and other relevant material for target groups including local
leaders and community peacebuilding stakeholders ; - Lead listening clubs, and provide feedback and
recommendations to the Media Team and Management for adjustment ; - Together with the National Programs Director,
produce quarterly workplans of outreach activities and manage their
implementation ; - Liaise between SFCG, local authorities and
local partners including community radio stations as regards different
activities to be conducted in the community ; - Ensure that outreach activities are conducted
as planned and agreed upon with the donor ; - Maintain proactive communication with the
Organisation’s Management on the progress of outreach activities,
including producing monthly reports ; - Ensure that budgets for outreach activities
are prepared on time and that they comply with donor requirements ; - Attend different meetings organised in the
Districts where the Organisation is operating, as requested ; - Any other reasonable task as requested by the
Organisation’s Management.

The Community Outreach Coordinator must possess the
following knowledge, qualifications and competencies and demonstrate that
he/she can undertake the essential functions of the position :

- A university degree in Social sciences,
conflict management, political sciences and any other related field ;
- 3+ years working for international NGO or similar
in conflict management ; - Previous experience coordinating projects and
supervising staff ; - Fluency in oral and written Kinyarwanda,
French and English ; - Experience with Community based organisations
and Government institutions ; - Possess strong oral and written communication
skills and be able to establish and maintain good relationships with
colleagues and partners - Have an interest in SFCG’s mission and work
