Level
3:  the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people
either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in
one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are
visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the
police checking/vetting process staff.
ROLE
PURPOSE:
Supporting
individual women, girls, boys and men through Sexual and Gender Based Violence
(SGBV) prevention and response services. This includes awareness raising and
community sensitization as well as working with survivors of sexual and gender
based violence, ensuring that they access essential services and receive
psychosocial support and safety planning, as required.
In
the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected
to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours
accordingly.

Dimensions: Close working relationships with external actors to facilitate
referrals and coordination on GBV prevention initiatives.
Collaboration
with internal departments and child protection staff.
KEY
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Direct
SGBV Support
•            
Provide SGBV response and case management services to people affected by and
at-risk of sexual and gender based violence, including domestic violence, early
and forced marriage, sexual abuse and exploitation, and child sexual abuse.
•            
Ensure survivors receive individual case management support by conducting
registration, assessments, case plans, safety plans, direct service provision,
referrals and follow up support for an assigned caseload, in line with
international best practice standards and SOPs.
•            
Conduct follow-up and monitoring visits based on the survivor’s needs.
•            
Ensure that urgent and challenging cases are immediately discussed with direct
supervisor.
•            
Establish and maintain constructive relationships with service providers.
•            
Work closely with the other teams and sectors to ensure the effective
identification and support to SGBV survivors.
•            
Support the effective establishment and running of SGBV therapy groups.
•            
Ensure that confidentiality, informed consent, the best interests of the child,
Do No Harm, and other SGBV and case management principles and best practices
are adhered to throughout the process, including the utilization of appropriate
tools and SGBV forms.
•            
Work with cultural sensitivity and respect the dignity of vulnerable people and
families and members of the host communities at all times.
Community
Mobilisation
•            
Support community based mechanisms and work closely with women’s associations
and other key actors to prevent and respond to SGBV.
•            
Support community awareness sessions on child protection concerns,
identification of vulnerable children and the process of registration of
separated/unaccompanied children including family tracing.
Administration,
Documentation and Reports
•            
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files for all SGBV cases.
•            
Participate in case conferences and meetings as required.
•            
Adhere to strict confidentiality and information management standards and
protocols, sharing information only in compliance with these standards
•            
Support and participate in programme monitoring and evaluation activities as
requested.

QUALIFICATIONS 
University
degree in social sciences, arts, public administration, social administration,
community development.
EXPERIENCE
AND SKILLS
Essential
•            
2 years’ experience working with children and community mobilization in
institutions or community in case management and SGBV domain.
•            
Ability to communicate in English and French and Kinyarwanda through verbal and
written communication.
•            
Good technical understanding of SGBV and community based approaches.
•            
Computer knowledge.
•            
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•            
Be able to prioritize tasks.
•            
Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
•            
Experience with community development, working with children and schools.
•            
Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
•            
The ability to think critically and to recommend good solutions to problems.

Strong Organizational skills.
