Save the Children Grants Transition Project Manager Job Vacancy in London

month fixed term contract.

The
Grants Transition Project Manager will be responsible for providing project
management support for the end-to-end transition of member-owned grants into
Save the Children International (SCI). This role will provide oversight on the
fund summaries process to enable the smooth and timely migration of member data
into SCI Grant Management System (GMS). He/she will primarily dedicated to
ensuring that the transfer of all member grants occurs in an accurate and
timely fashion from a country office’s pre-transition phase through to its
post-go-live date, at which point he/she will ensure that outstanding grants
transition activities are appropriately handed-over to the respective business
functions and regional offices. In addition, this role will be responsible for
the continued development and improvement, training, and roll out on the
overall grant transfer process.
The
Grants Transition Project Manager will need to work closely with many different
member staff and user groups throughout the organisation, as well as Save the
Children International staff from finance, grants management and IT teams.
He/she will need to work with all stakeholders to track progress, identify
risks and issues, develop mitigation and solution options, monitor resolution,
and escalate where appropriate to IP senior management.
This
position may require travel to Save the Children International offices or
member offices to support central, regional and country office staff.
Willingness to travel at short notice, if required, (up to 20% of the time) is
expected.
Required
skills and experience
  • Excellent project management and
    prioritisation skills; strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to set and agree
    reasonable expectations for individuals and teams and hold them
    accountable for meeting those expectations
  • Strong analytical and problem
    solving skills, notably ability to translate strategy into practical
    action, understand risk factors and put in place mitigations; strong
    attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under
    tight timelines and potential crisis scenarios
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills;
    able to professionally interact with diverse employees, from entry-level
    to upper-level management
  • Ability to work successfully in a
    matrix organisation and “manage” teams and individuals who are
    not line reports
  • Strong communications skills –
    verbal and written fluency in English. The ability to work in a second
    language would be a strong advantage
  • Ability to translate complex grant
    and financial information into a clear and approachable format for a wide
    range of audiences
  • Solid skills in Microsoft Excel
    and PowerPoint applications
  • Prior knowledge of grant and
    programme management processes for not-for-profit organisation a plus
  • Must be willing to travel at short
    notice up to ~20% of the time to the centre (member and Save the Children
    International), regional and country office staff as required
