Job Purpose
• The position of Field Operations Manager the operational and programme delivery of the response in either, Nimba or Grand Gedeh County.
• The post holder will work closely with and report to the Emergency Programme Manager based in Zwedru to ensure an integrated response and programmatic approach across the two counties. S/he will also work closely with Thematic Managers, Logistics Manager as well as the Finance and Grants Manager to ensure timely and quality delivery of programmes.
Key accountabilities:
Operational Management
• Responsibility for the overall management and supervision of finance, logistics, administration and programme sectors, with oversight and support provided by the Field based Emergency Programme Manager or the Field Operations Manager. Programme implementation
• Manage the delivery of emergency programme activities focusing on Child Protection and Education, with key inputs from Emergency Programme or Field Operations Manager, technical staff and HQ based advisors.
• Representation and advocacy Establish and maintain contact with all key actors as relevant for the programme implementation – military, government ministries, UN, NGOs, partners – and establish mechanisms for contacting local community organizations and partners and other local NGOs/CBOs in line with key sectoral areas of work and assess capacity/resources to respond.
Person specification
Essential
• 3 years experience of working as a lead member within an emergency team, preferably managing a field base.
• Understanding of donor compliance and key SC reporting procedures
• Experience of working in fragile states, with operational delivery constraints.
Desired qualifications and experience
Masters in development studies or sociology or any other development related study; and Previous experience in working with government on issues of resettlement of IDPs.
