Willcliff Dusengimana of Gisagara signed on a one-year deal for the Egyptian volleyball league side of Canal SC.
Over the past two years, the 20-year-old has proven himself as one of local volleyball’s greatest spikers.
Dusengimana said he’s prepared to take on a new challenge in an exclusive interview with Times Sport.
“I have signed a one-year contract and now I am waiting to travel to Egypt in September,” said Dusengimana
Last year, Dusengimana rejected an extension of the contract with APR, offering REG and UTB to enter the two-time reigning Gisagara champions.
He instantly helped them clinch the pre-season tournament title after edging REG in the final after inking a two-year agreement with the Gisagara-based outfit.
He was also instrumental in clinching the inaugural CAVB Africa Zone V Club Championships in February with Benon Mugisha’s REG.
At the 2019 Africa Men’s Club Championship in Egypt, the hard-hitting spiker also assisted his squad reach an 11th place.
But his campaign for 2018/2019 finished on a low note as REG stopped the dominance of his side in May to lift the league title.
