Eventually, Rwandans got what they had been waiting for- to travel upcountry and also be able to ride on motorcycles as the simplest and quickest means of transport.
When a complete shutdown was declared by the government in March, thousands of Rwandans were trapped both upcountry and in the capital. They waited for this day to lift the travel ban.
At the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday the decision was taken to further ease the lockdown.
But travel to the districts of Rusizi and Rubavu is prohibited. In these districts motorcycles taxis are also not permitted back on the roads.
