The Rwanda Revenue Authority is seeking to recruit self-motivated and
qualified employees of high integrity to fill the following posts:
- Tax
Officer - Customs
Officer
I. TAX OFFICER
The Tax officer reports to the Tax Audit Team Leader.
The post is on grade 4.
Main duties and responsibilities
Performs office audits of tax accounts for individual and enterprises by:
- Obtaining
cases assigned from tax accounting system; - Obtaining
taxpayer´s accounts details from their accounting system; - Obtaining
all relevant documents from filing and documentation room; - Reviewing
account balance details and analyzing compliance to the tax legislation; - Instructing
notices of reassessment; - Preparing
reports for the audit supervisor.
Performs field audits of tax accounts of Individual and simple (Individual,
Non-Individual) companies/enterprises by obtaining cases assigned from tax
system;
Provides information to taxpayers to increase their understanding of
existing tax laws, regulations and procedures by explaining tax tables and
methods of tax computations and assisting in the interpretation of the relevant
tax laws.
Qualifications
- To be a
Rwandan; (attach a copy of national identity card) - To hold a
Bachelors degree in the following areas; Management, Accounting sciences,
BBA- Accounting or Finance, Bachelor of Commerce- Accounting or Finance.
Knowledge and skills
- Ability to
make mathematical calculations; - Ability to
interpret and apply financial rules and regulations; - Ability to
follow specified procedures; - Ability to
maintain accurate records; - To be
computer literate: Word, Excel and FMIS
Language: To be fluent in English or French
II. CUSTOMS OFFICER
The Customs Officer reports to the Station Manager.
The post is on grade 4.
Main duties and accountabilities
- Verifies
and validates documents for transit goods; - Identifies
cases of evasion and investigate them; - Collects
customs duty and ensures that duty payable is received, secured and
banked; Prepares regular reports on activities and issue them to the
station manager; - Prepares
and delivers to the revenue accountant weekly collection reports.
Qualifications
- To be a
Rwandan; (attach
a copy of national identity card) - To hold a
Bachelors degree in the following areas: Management, Accounting Sciences,
BBA- Accounting or Finance, Bachelor of Commerce- Accounting or Finance.
Knowledge and skills
- Good
analytical and organizational skills; - Ability to
follow specified procedures; - To be
computer literate: Word and Excel;
Language: To be fluent in English or French
