Reference
- Coordinate
the activities of the Rwanda ‘Journalists Association (ARJ) and the Press
House (MPH) - Closely
follow up on the ongoing media reforms in collaboration with Rwanda
Governance Board - Act as
the liaison between the members of the association and stake holders as
well as partners - Coordinate
the activities leading to the establishment of the Media self regulatory
body - Act
as the administrator of the Office where the two organizations operate
from - Represent
the associations at meetings, events and other areas deemed necessary - Contribute
towards improving the welfare of journalists and promotion of press
freedom and professional standards. - Follow
up on the implementation of the Association’ action plan - Build
and maintain relationships between the associations and the public,
business community government departments/foreign missions/ International
NGOs and parastatals - Develop
and maintain networks with local, regional and international media
associations - Manage
the perception/image of the association as independent, professional and
reliable - Produce
periodical reports at official meetings convened by ARJ - Any
other activities as assigned by Heads of Committee for ARJ.
Profile of ideal
candidate
- Two
years experience in working with the media - Ability
to work independently and as a team player - Ability
to work with minimal supervision - Extensive
knowledge of the Rwandan media landscape - Demonstrated
strong oral and written communication skills in Kinyarwanda and
English/French.
