The School of Science came into existence on January 1, 2016 and comprises the
previous schools of Applied Sciences; Mathematical and Geospatial Sciences; and
Computer Science and Information Technology. The School encompasses the
disciplines of Chemistry, Physics, Food Sciences and Molecular Bioscience,
Mathematics and Geospatial Sciences, and Computer Science and IT.

The role and your responsibilities

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Mathematical Sciences, the Lecturer will
contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the school. More
specifically, the Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities
of particular relevance to the Information Security and Assurance program and
for maintaining and advancing the scholarly, research and professional
capabilities relevant to this area. The Lecturer is also expected to actively
promote the program by establishing and maintaining memberships, links and
partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. You will
also be required to supervise Masters and PhD research students.

Skills and experience required

The successful candidate will bring to the role your demonstrated ability to
prepare and deliver Mathematics and Information Security courses at
undergraduate and postgraduate levels including the ability to produce high
quality curriculum and program materials at tertiary level. Your proven ability
to develop innovative approaches to course delivery and student-centred learning
that exploits new technologies and with a commitment to continuous quality
improvement through ongoing training and development will be critical to your
success in this role. Furthermore, your demonstrated ability to undertake
independent research that will contribute to existing research areas evidenced
by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research
funding and building industry links will be essential.

A PhD or equivalent professional experience in Mathematics or Information
Security is required. To apply
