The intern will assist in the development and deployment of Habitat’s unique carbon asset software by conducting research and supporting Habitat’s operations. It is a valuable and fun opportunity to work in a growing cleantech IT startup.

HABITAT CARBON ASSETS | WHAT WE DO
Habitat Carbon Assets (“Habitat”) is a pioneering carbon asset “Software as a Service (SaaS)” firm with a strong track record in the low carbon marketplace. Habitat (http://www.habitatcarbon.com) is working to make clean technology more affordable worldwide.
The commercialization of clean technology is critical to addressing global climate change and Habitat’s IncentiveID SaaS platform is improving the economics of cleantech applications by identifying and monetizing the carbon and energy incentives – “carbon assets” – available to any clean technology. When projects with carbon and energy incentive potential are identified, Habitat finances all costs associated with incentive certification and manage all aspects of carbon asset monetization, generating additional revenue for all parties involved.

THE ROLE | RESEARCH AND OPERATIONS INTERN
Under the guidance of the CEO and Technical Director, the Research and Operations Intern’s responsibilities will include:
• Researching clean technology leads and market segments to identify software applications
• Completing detailed research on the common practices used by North American utilities with regard to carbon asset ownership
• Composing high quality government reports for cleantech IT projects
• Strategizing and analyzing business development opportunities as defined by the team
• Supporting B2B relationships internationally with green IT and clean technology companies
• Other tasks and responsibilities as required

REMUNERATION
This is an unpaid internship, though interns have the possibility of ongoing employment with Habitat after the internship.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills/Qualifications
• Passionate about climate change, carbon reduction, and cleantech
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
• Completed or completing an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution or international equivalent
• Ability to synthesize ideas quickly and formulate and manage multiple projects
• Highly polished English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong online research skills and attention to detail
• Reside in Vancouver, BC or neighboring areas
• Legally eligible to work in Canada

• Ability to work independently and meet established performance milestones
