Region of Peel Analyst, Transportation Demand Management Job Vacancy in Brampton, Ontario

Reporting to the Manager, Sustainable Transportation you will develop, coordinate and implement transportation programs/services to provide sustainable travel options for Peel Region. You will work collaboratively with both the public and private sectors to improve mobility and establish active/sustainable transportation options by managing travel demand, promoting health, environmental and financial gains.

Duties include:

* coordinating with Metrolinx, Transportation Management Associations (TMAs) and area municipal staff to develop and implement active transportation and TDM programs in Peel Region
* advocate the benefits of active transportation and TDM to stakeholders (including schools) and pursue active participation in program activities
* educating and promoting active/sustainable modes of transportation
* coordinating travel surveys to assess and monitor service feasibility and progress
* prepare reports to various committees
* creating, implementing and maintaining a system for tracking and monitoring progress
* developing annual strategy and work plan
* administering Program budget and identifying and developing funding strategies, proposals and other means of generating revenue
* planning and conducting travel option information events to promote active/sustainable transportation
* performing other duties as assigned.

Success Requires:
* University degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Studies or Business/Marketing plus five (5) years work experience in planning, marketing/promotion or equivalent combination
* ability to manage large, complex projects
* familiarity with Active Transportation and TDM Programs
* understanding of community based social marketing/individualized marketing principles/practices
* solid communication and interpersonal skills to work with multidisciplinary team, stakeholders, volunteers and committee members
* experience in developing, monitoring and evaluating new programs
* demonstrated ability in business planning, budget preparation, financial management, analytical, problem-solving and computer skills
* valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle.

Opening & Location: One (1) contract full-time — 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton
Hours of Work: 35 hours/week — Monday through Friday
Compensation: $60,274 – $75,341 plus long term contract benefit package
