HVAC Mechanical Engineer
Sarawak – Miri

Responsibilities:
• Receives allocated duties and reviews enquiry documentation from client together with Scope of Work to understand what is required.
• Raises queries where there is lack of clarity. Creates drawings and document register to ensure all deliverables are accountable and completed on time.
• Prepares system design philosophy and specifications.
• Perform detailed design of HVAC system including HVAC Heat load calculation, HVAC equipment sizing, duct sizing, fan & pump head calculation, duct and pipe sizing.
• Coordinates with the Drafting Office coordinator for the checking and issuing of HVAC detailed drawings and shop drawings.
• Prepares the Purchase Requisition for HVAC equipments and specify inspection/ test and vendor data requirements.
• Undertakes technical evaluations of vendor offers for the more complex items to ensure PR’s technical details are satisfied.
• Prepares material take-offs for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.
• Provides input for the development of the Planning Package. Provides reports on project progress against the approved plans and budgets, bringing to notice potential problems or delays and recommends solutions.
• Reviewing and monitoring of subcontracted design and interface with other discipline.
• Provide technical and engineering support and back-up to our site team during the construction stage.
• Receives “as built” information from the Project Management Team, reviews content and, if satisfied, passes to drafting for production of drawing
• Prepare and update HVAC data sheets, specifications and drawings for basis of quotation of qualified HVAC vendors. Hyundai (HHI) initially prepares specification, data sheets and drawings.
• Prepare Material Requisition for Quotation (RFQ) on HVAC Package for quotation on qualified HVAC vendors experienced in Off- shore project.
• Prepare Technical Bid Clarifications for HVAC vendors base on vendor technical bid offer and to check the compliance on HVAC specification and completeness of scope of supply.
• Prepare Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for comparison of HVAC vendor offer and recommend the best suitable HVAC vendor.
• Prepare HVAC Material Requisition for Purchase (MRP) for final quotation of selected HVAC vendor after TBE.
• Arrange and prepare minuted HVAC Bid Clarification Meeting with the selected vendor prior issue of final recommendation of HVAC TBE.
• Arrange and prepare minuted HVAC Kick off meeting with the selected vendor prior issue of Notice to Proceed (NTP) and Purchase order (P.O).
• Arrange and list all HVAC vendor documents to be submitted by HVAC vendor as per related construction schedule of the project.
• Check, comment and expedite HVAC Vendor Data Requirement List (VDRL) as per VDS schedule. HVAC VDRL consists of Schedule, Drawings, Calculations, Performance data, QA/ Certification and Manuals.
• Arrange and initiate Engineering documents of HVAC vendor such as general arrangement drawings, electrical drawings, HVAC control drawings and other HVAC documents.
• Everyday interaction with HHI HVAC engineers and manager regarding progress of HVAC work and relate HVAC engineering problem encountered with the HVAC vendor.

Requirements:
Applicant must possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineer or HVAC Engineering with more than 10 years of experience in the onshore/offshore oil and gas industry and onshore gas plant, industrial plant and commercial/ office building. The applicant should have extensive experience in Mechanical engineering design and ability to provide technical consultations on issues related to HVAC. The applicant will perform detail design of HVAC systems, troubleshooting problems related to HVAC systems and monitoring progress of HVAC work.

Applicant shall be a professionally registered Engineer in home base country and be capable of attaining Registration with BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia)
