Are you a practising chartered accountant, solicitor/barrister or a person authorised by law to advise on and/or manage investments?

Big Lottery Fund distributes 40 per cent of the money that the
National Lottery raises for good causes. We want to use Lottery money to make big changes for communities, through the fair and open funding of people, projects and programmes.
We are setting up two trusts and need to appoint Protectors who will be responsible for ensuring that the trusts are run well and that the

Trustees administer the trusts in accordance with the Trust Deeds.
The Forces in Mind Trust will be given a £35 million grant to expend over 20 years to support the psychological well-being and successful and sustainable transition of members of the armed forces, veterans and their families into civilian life.

The Big Local Trust will have £200 million to commit over a period of about 10 years to drive long-term improvement in the condition of between 100 and 150 disadvantaged and overlooked neighbourhoods across England.

Both are in the form of expendable endowments, which must be spent over the life of each trust.
We are recruiting for two posts of Protector, one for each Trust.

Committing to up to two days a month, working from home and attending meetings in London, to oversee the work of the Trust, with your knowledge and experience of trusts and governance issues and an understanding of the voluntary and community sector, you will help each trust achieve its objectives.

For the Forces in Mind Trust prospective candidates should have empathy with the armed forces and the unique covenant that exists between ex-service men and women and the nation.
This post is advertised as a fixed-term contract for five years.
