Technician based in Surrey/Delta.

Although
the work schedule is for the weekdays, the successful candidate must be
available to work weekends if required.
The
Hazardous Waste Technician responsibilities includes, but not limited to:
  • Classifying
    and lab packing chemicals.
  • Processing
    paint, household hazardous waste, and other special waste.
  • Supervising
    other staff with regards to the management of hazardous waste.
  • Shipping
    and receiving.
  • Assist
    in the day to day activities, in support of operations.
  • Perform
    other duties as assigned.
The
ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and
qualifications:
  • Post-secondary
    education in chemistry or environmental sciences.
  • Previous
    experience with hazardous waste.
  • Able
    to perform physical work, including lifting over 50lbs, on a routine
    basis.
  • Ideally,
    Transportation of Dangerous Good certified.
  • Ideally
    certified to operate a 5000lbs. sit down lift truck.
  • Excellent
    interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly
    organized and detail oriented with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient
    with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Access, Word).
  • Must
    be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented warehouse.
  • Reliable
    and able to follow direction.
  • Must
    be able to fluently speak, read & write English.
  • Experience
    with, or comfortable wearing, a respirator.
  • Steel
    toed boots required.
