Region, is looking for qualified professionals with strong entrepreneurial
orientation to join its team in the Ghana Office in the following senior level
positions.
1.
Chief Operating Officer (ESS/12/01/12)
Your role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will report to the Executive Chairman and
will have overall responsibility for the profitability of the entire business.
He/she will oversee the day-to-day operations and functions of a Group of
Subsidiaries. The COO will develop, and upon approval from the Board,
implement strategies and policies to grow company’s market share, set and
monitor business and individual performance targets, develop high performance
team and advise on and ensure compliance with relevant statutory and
professional standards. The successful candidate will also be responsible for
reporting financial and operational performance to the Board.
Your profile
As a minimum, the ideal candidate must have:
- Master
of Business Administration in Finance, Economics, International Business
or equivalent professional qualification in a related field - Twelve
(12) years working experience in similar role with at least 7 years in
senior management position - Thorough
understanding and broad experience with the full range of business
functions and systems, including strategy development and planning,
finance and budgeting, marketing, business analysis and development,
information systems, and human resource management - Strong
entrepreneurial orientation: initiative, independent, high level of
flexibility, strong team player, result driven and customer-focused - Excellent
financial analysis and problem solving skills and ability to make business
decisions - Well-developed
strategic orientation with ability to identify opportunities in a
fast/dynamic competitive market - Excellent
knowledge and understanding of global issues and its impact on the economy
and the Company’s operations - Inspirational
leader with demonstrable negotiation skills and ability to set and achieve
challenging objectives through people.
2.
Business Development Director (ESS/12/02/12)
Your role
You will report to the Chief Operating Officer and be responsible for:
- Conception
and formulation of business ideas, partnerships and growth opportunities
in line with the Group’s overall business strategy - Identify
potential partners for off-taker agreements in line with the Group’s
long-term vision and business strategy, lead in the development of
business proposals and bids, sourcing, managing and implementing new business
initiatives in line with overall business strategy - Provide
technical expertise in the development and implementation of the Group’s
strategy and corporate decision-making to ensure profitability, lead and
direct the development and implementation of strategic/business plan for
his/her function as well as develop and monitor implementation of
policies, standard 0perating procedures (SOPs) and project management
standards in line with international best practice to achieve set
objectives - Building
strategic relationship with policy and decision makers in
government/public and private sectors, and be abreast with current
government policy interventions on emerging bi-lateral and multi-lateral
economic and or social development initiatives and advise executive
management on potential business opportunities, and initiate action to
position the company for such business opportunities - Advising
on business-related legislation, rules and regulations in Ghana and
countries of potential/current business partners and provide periodic
reports to management - Developing
and manage budget for his/her department - Developing
skilled, motivated, and high performance team through effective
performance management, training and rewards.
Your profile
As a minimum, the ideal candidate must have:
- Masters
degree in Project Management, International Relations, Business/Public
Administration or related field - Ten
(10) years of proven professional experience in a business development
role both local and international; at least 5 years in senior management
position - Well-developed
understanding and skills in strategy development and implementation, and
project management - Extensive
knowledge/understanding of the public/private sector administrative
systems in Ghana and other countries of importance to organisation. - Considerable
knowledge of Ghana’s Trade Policy, GIPC regulations and other regulatory
bodies/agencies with regard to business operations and/or relations with
foreign content - Strong
communication and networking skills and ability to build strong
relationships relevant to the development of business potential and
partnerships within sectors of importance to the organisation - Inspirational
leader with demonstrable business acumen and ability to set and achieve
challenging objectives through people. Alert to changing situations,
showing flexibility in approach and able to adapt in difficult
circumstances and continuously striving to achieve results.
