Scholarship Description: A 3-year postdoctoral position in Developmental Neurobiology is available
in Prof Andrea Streit’s group at King’s College London. The BBSRC-funded
project takes an interdisciplinary approach to characterize the
molecular networks that control specification of neural progenitors in
vertebrates. The Department is one of the leading centres for Craniofacial
Biology worldwide and offers a vibrant research environment in the heart of
London. This is a collaborative project with a team at University College London.
It will investigate how pluripotent progenitor cells are committed to different
neural lineages using molecular approaches including next generation
sequencing, multiplex transcript analysis, characterisation of his tone
modification combined with in vivo approaches to study gene function and
regulation. The successful candidate will work closely with a bioinformaticians
to analyse data and to predict genetic interactions. S/he will have expertise
in one of the areas above, an excellent scientific track record and will be
keen to work in an interdisciplinary team.
