Possible ways of improving sawmill industries

The following are possible ways of improving the
standard of sawmill industries:

Provision of adequate protective
equipment

ii.
Provision of adequate lighting and ventilation.

iii.
Minimizing the vibratory part of
equipment by fastening the gadget and using less noise machine, noise mufflers
and silencers.

iv.
Provision of adequate first aid box
and fire extinguisher.

v.
Proper maintenance of all equipment

vi.
Adequate guarding of all saw blades
and machines

vii.
Sawmill industries should be sited
at least 500m away from residential building.

viii.
Building of well designed incinerators
in the vicinity of the mills as these can serve as an incentives to entrepreneur
in the industries as well.

ix.
Routine examination of workers will
help improve the standard of sawmill industries.

x.
There should be public enlightenment
campaign to sensitize all stakeholder in the community and workers in the
industry of the impending dangers of badly managed environment.

xi.
Provision of adequate vehicles for
transporting log/lumber to industries and market and it should be in good
working condition.
