• Physically able to assemble displays and move boxes, etc.

Locations
• Pigeon Lake – about one hour south west of Edmonton, about 45
minutes west of Wetaskiwin on Highway 13
• You must have a place to stay near to the lake – it is too much for
most people to commute from Edmonton each day. No guarantees but the
PLWA will help you to find a place to stay.

Additional Information: You are keen to experience a wonderful yet
challenging summer in a beautiful location.

Pigeon Lake has a trophic status of eutrophication. It is a great
place to learn about the algae dynamics; human impacts in a watershed
on a prairie lake; changing social systems to best practices and much
more. The social systems are complex yet, leaders from around the lake
are working together in a coordinated effort to address the natural
systems and watershed practices while also exploring an in-lake
sedimentary option. This experience will be a great base for any
career that looks to combine the ecology and social systems and
especially for anyone focusing on water resources.

The PLWA is seen by many to be leaders in tackling our challenges
(common across the world) and in the creation of a lake watershed
management plan based on the provinces Water-for-Life framework. A
number of studies have been conducted, and the results are helping to
target efforts.

You will have an office at Pigeon Lake and be out around the lake much
of the time.

A sense of humour and willingness to have fun will be invaluable.
