region. Perseus Mining (Ghana) Limited (PMGL) has recently commissioned the
world-class Edikan gold project in the Western Region of Ghana. Edikan Gold
Mine (EGM) has a current mining reserve of 3.3M oz of gold from a resource base
of 4.3M oz. The Edikan processing facility has been designed as a 5.5Mtpa
processing facility with the ability to expand this to 8Mtpa in the future. The
plant is capable of producing at a rate of 220-270,000oz gold

Description
The Chief
Environmental Chemist will be responsible for providing accurate and timely
physio-chemical and biological analysis of water and tailings samples.

The
responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:-

- Develop and maintain operating
procedures and standards for the environmental laboratory; - Implement a fully automated
reporting system for the environmental laboratory; - Timely analysis of water and
process samples under International QA/QC requirements; - Manage the environmental
laboratory and provide accurate results/returns; - Establish a QA/QC programme with
other laboratories; - Conduct Risk Assessment and
operate the laboratory under safe conditions

Skills or Experience
- The successful applicant must
possess degree or Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry, or Chemical
Engineering, or Environmental Chemistry, or Laboratory Technician with at
least 5 years experience in a leadership role in setting and operating an
environmental laboratory
