Job Description

The Payroll manager is primarily responsible for the payroll function in
existing and new Rackspace International entities.

They will work closely with the HR department to develop improved processes
and supporting HR at looking at tax efficient ways for the company to deliver
benefits, whilst ensuring compliance and accuracy of HMRC and local country
reporting requirements.

Job Requirements

Payroll processing

– Ensure monthly payroll processing timelines are met
– Work with various departments on accuracy and timing of data received
– Lead a payroll team, provide goals, reviews and development opportunities
for the team

Payroll implementation

– Responsible for implementation of payroll systems in existing and all new
countries including but not limited to;-
– Assist supply chain with RFP and meeting with potential vendors
– Completing up front due diligence of payroll processing and reporting
requirements
– Investigate options
– Selection of payroll provider
– Implementation of new payroll systems by organising and controlling
uploading of data for all employee records

Payroll compliance and reporting

– From both an employer and employee perspective;-
– Understand and comply with current reporting requirements for each country
– Research new compliance and reporting requirements and assess the impact on
the relevant companies
– Formulate strategy for entering countries working with legal and HR

Partner with HR

– Work to find cost and tax efficient ways for the company to deliver
benefits, helping HR and business be informed of the impact of their
decisions
– Develop improved processes and increase communication of upcoming changes
– Develop reporting of issues and working on means to resolve them
– Regular meetings with HR, and becoming more imbedded in their decision
making process whilst understanding changes that they are contemplating

Manage, Development and Maintenance of Payroll Systems

– Ensure completeness and accuracy of information transferred from GPS into
the payroll system and notification to relevant parties to correct any errors
and omissions.
– Ensure consistency of business unit and department information in ADP is up
to date and agrees with GPS notifying HR of any discrepancies to resolved.
– Ensure that the system for any amendments, deductions and additions to
salary outside of GPS is controlled and reviewed for efficiency and
effectiveness.
– Manage process for system upgrades ensuring adequate testing and planning
for delivery into live system environment

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

– Extensive Payroll experience
– Managing International payroll experience essential
– Excellent knowledge of payroll practice and laws
– ADP experience preferred
– (IPP) Institute of payroll professional qualifications or similar preferred
– Self-starter, motivated to provide the highest possible level of
responsiveness and performance as part of a small team.
– The ability to work effectively with people in a high-growth, fast paced
environment and drive results.
– Excel intermediate experience required as a minimum.
– Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills
– Attention to the quality of own work
– Deep enthusiasm for developing people to achieve maximum results
– Ability to apply logical thinking and a good reasoning ability.
