Partners In Health (PIH)/Inshuti Mu Buzima (IMB) is seeking to recruit an outstanding candidate to fill the following vacant positions:
Job position: Social support Manager
Reports to: District Program Manager
Location: Burera
Purpose of the job
The primary purpose of this role is to manage an array of services delivered under the PIH/IMB Program on Social and Economic Rights (POSER). POSER addresses the social inequalities that put patients at increased risk of disease. The program does this by providing nutritional support, building houses, providing Mutuelle insurance subscriptions, and paying for school fees. The Social Support Manager will work closely with clinical program staff working for PIH/IMB, hospital staff employed by the Ministry of Health, local leaders, and members of the community. This will be a unique opportunity to shape and impact PIH/IMB’s approach to social welfare.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and monitor a complex budget comprised of multiple fund sources and programs, including education, Mutuelle insurance, patient transportation assistance, vocational training, housing, and other social support, each with its own set of reporting requirements and partnerships
• Serve as the point of contact for district-based PIH/IMB social support projects and Ministry of Health social workers
• Participate in joint planning and coordination meetings with other POSER program staff
• Serve as a content expert and designated representative of PIH/IMB nationally and internationally in one or more areas of social support
• Participate in technical planning groups focused on and monitoring and evaluation
• Provide timely reporting of qualitative activities and performance indicators
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required
• Should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, or Community Health
• At least three year’s professional work experience working in an international nonprofit setting is required
• Work experience in a rural setting helping vulnerable people improve their lives is strongly preferred
• Should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Must be willing and able to be based in the rural areas served by PIH/IMB;
• Must have excellent proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Should be fluent in English, Kinyarwanda, and French
