WASH Consortium for Liberia brings together five international agencies —
Tearfund, Solidarités International, Concern Worldwide, Action Contre la Faim
(ACF) and Oxfam GB Liberia as the lead agency. The Consortium is now entering a
new 3 year strategy period, with the following 3 strategic pillars; to increase
and improve Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities and service
delivery; to increase and improve individual and institutional capacity to
manage, expand and sustain improved WASH services; and advocate and lobby for increased funding to meet PRS and MDG WASH targets. Bring us your experience

The
role

The
consortium is managed by a secretariat with a coordinator that is supported by
Operations and INGO Boards, you will provide guidance to the Board (and/or
individual NGOs) on the standardisation, best practice and improvement in
construction of WASH facilities, ensuring that all WASH interventions are
compliant with Government of Liberia policy and standards. In addition you will
support capacity development of partners and government departments on WASH
technical issues as well as work on programme quality, monitoring and
evaluation issues. You will also represent the Consortium at all national WASH
technical meetings.

programmes in a developing country context. Ideally you will hold a
professional qualification in a WASH related discipline (engineering; environmental
health , public health etc). With experience in designing and implementing
comprehensive health and hygiene promotion programmes, you understand that
maintaining programme quality through strong monitoring and evaluation work is
essential. As the role will be working across five agencies, strong
communication and facilitation skills will be critical, as is the ability to
lead and train multi-agency teams.
