Type: volunteer position with accom., food, more (see below)
Location: Nelson, British Columbia
URGENT: We are looking for a couple or a single who is willing to
volunteer 25 hours a week from approx. June 15 to Sept. 1, in return
for a home and food.
We are currently building a small cabin, 200 sq foot with loft, that
would be just for this couple/person. We could pick you up at the bus
station. We are an omnivore household, but easily adapt to
vegetarians. Our home is non smoking, but we allow careful smoking
outside. Nelson is a fabulous spot for hiking, kayaking, and all
mountain and lake/river sports, and is a great art/music/festival
town.
We have a lovely spot 2.5 kms. from Nelson, with organic gardens,
orchards, berries. We are part of a cooperative community with 7 other
families. We use many composting, permaculture, and micro organism
methods to enhance our gardens. We have a beautiful meditation space.
We have hosted many many Wwoofers through the years, and if you are a
Wwoofer you can read our profile and ‘testimonials…The Beauty Path,
Nelson, BC. People love their time here. The work would be
primarily
weeding, and watering, making composts, and picking and freezing
berries.
