Opportunities Industrialization Centers International (OICI) Infrastructure Specialist Job Vacancy in Liberia

Company Profile
Oversee and manage the infrastructure component of the USAID/OICI Health, Agriculture and Nutrition Development for Sustainability (HANDS) Program. Ensure our infrastructure sites are well situated, manage our sub-partner in program implementation and liaise with our field agents to ensure effective community engagements in River Gee and Grand Gedeh Counties. As part of our MYAP, OICI is required to construct and rehabilitate markets, public and family latrines, farm to market roads, bridges and mini-bridges, storage
units and water systems over a five year period.

Job Description:

Key Job Description:
• Work with our consortium partner, Shelter for Life (SFL) to oversee and manage the infrastructure component of the program on behalf of OICI;
• Work with Ministry of Public Works, County and District Offices to ensure effective planning and selection of construction sites along with our partners;
• Liaise with Field Agents to engage communities and create awareness of planned constructions activities
• Review and inspect construction activities to ensure project construction goals are followed;
• Assure correct measurement of completion of works and provide independent report for verification;
• Work closely with consortium partners to ensure timely delivery of quality construction projects;
• Prepare monthly reports documenting the progress of work and man hours required for the completion of each activity;
• Assist the team in overall planning and design of future projects as spelled out in the implementation plan;
• Provide independent analysis and verification construction reports, BOQ and estimate of our consortium partner;
• Supervise and manage two infrastructure specialist assistants based in River Gee and Grand Gedeh Counties;
• Provide support on tasks, schedules and monthly job activities for each infrastructure assistants

JOB REQUIREMENT:
Qualifications and experiences:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction and or technical discipline;
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a developing country focusing on construction;
• Experience working with rural communities and implementing construction projects;
• Understanding of rural construction such as building roads, bridges, community markets etc.

Competencies/Skills
• Have affinity for rural development;
• Must be a good communicator both written and oral;
• Must be energetic and capability in rural dialects in the area will be an added advantage;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to adapt, lead and motivate others.
