Field Agents (FAs) are community-focused workers with the responsibility to sensitize, mobilize and facilitate the formation of small and medium size groups as beneficiaries for the HANDS program. FAs have an affinity for rural development, are excellent communicators, energetic and have good interpersonal skills. In addition, FAs will work with the Infrastructure Specialist to ensure effective implementation of the infrastructure
component of the program. The FAs will have additional responsibilities including but not limited to school snack and school feeding monitoring

Job Description:

Duties
• Maintain cordial contacts with district level authorities and traditional leaders by sharing information on program activities;
• Carry out sensitization and awareness creation on program goals, objectives and interventions;
• Mobilize communities and target beneficiary groups for all interventions;
• Assist in mobilizing and organizing target groups for training at community level and at LOIC centers;
• Be the contact person for all consortium partners (WISHH, SFL, MM, LOIC) at the community level and assist in activities involving target groups;
• Mobilize communities and target groups for community infrastructure improvements (roads, bridges, safe water points, sanitation etc. by SFL);
• Mobilize communities and target groups for improved quality of community level health services (participate in training of Community Health Volunteers, or CHVs);
• Assist with the distribution of Super Gari for the school feeding program;
• Assist the Infrastructure Specialist in managing the infrastructure component of the program on behalf of OICI;
• Work with the Ministry of Public Works, and County and District Offices to ensure effective planning and selection of construction sites along with our partners;
• Liaise with Field Agents to engage communities and create awareness of planned constructions activities;
• Review and inspect construction activities to ensure project construction goals are followed in consultation with Infrastructure Specialist;
• Work closely with the consortium partners to ensure timely delivery of quality construction projects;
• Prepare monthly reports documenting the progress of work and man hours required for the completion of each activity for submission to supervisors;
• Assist the team in overall planning and design of future projects as outlined in the implementation plan;
• Provide inputs, analysis and verification construction reports, BOQ and estimates for consortium partners.

Job Requirement:
Qualifications and experiences:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree or 4 years work experience in engineering, construction and or technical discipline;
• Minimum of 4years of work experience in a developing country focusing on construction;
• Experience working with rural communities and implementing construction projects;

• Understanding of rural construction such as building roads, bridges, community markets etc.

Competencies/Skills
• Have affinity for rural development;
• Must be a good communicator both written and oral;
• Must be energetic and capability in rural dialects in the area will be an added advantage;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to adapt, lead and motivate others
