Location: Mississauga, Ontario
SUMMARY
This position receives all products and supplies according to established procedures. Organizes and prepares the staging area for next day shipping and receiving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
(Include but are not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities)
• Checks anticipated delivery report (ADR) related to incoming goods
• Prepares space for incoming goods
• Verifies invoice and bill of lading against purchase order; notifies Supervisor and/or Manager of any discrepancies
• Checks incoming goods for quality and/or damage; notifies Supervisor and/or Operations Manager of any quality or damage problems
• Separates goods for other wholesalers from regular stock
• Ensures that pallets on high shelves are signed appropriately
• Replenishes the stock to ensure easy access
• Performs regular maintenance of batteries in fork lifts
• Picks orders according to pick sheets when needed
• Properly palletizes and labels orders according to established procedures
• Places picked orders in designated staging area
• Checks incoming shipments for damage if required
• Ensures all Health and Safety policies are adhered to
• Recharges material handling equipment as required
• Consolidates orders on skids when needed
• Shrink wraps orders as required
• Organizes skids according to the route sheets for next day delivery
• General housekeeping of work areas i.e. freezer and fridges
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be certified to operate materials handling equipment including Raymond Reach Forklift
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds is required
• Good written and verbal communication skills are required as well as strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overtime and in refrigeration and freezer units are necessary
• Knowledge of natural food products would be beneficial or would be willing to learn.
• Familiarity with cooperatives and/or not-for-profit sector would also be an asset.
