Concerned that new nuclear investments will prevent us from moving to a renewable electricity future any time soon? You should be!

Both the Ontario Liberals and Conservatives want to build new reactors and refurbish existing reactors at Darlington. During this provincial election, help us distribute our election leaflets (http://www.cleanairalliance.org/files/Election_2011_final.pdf) door-to-door and at special events such as all candidates forums. Ask Tim Hudak what his position is on nuclear cost overruns.

The leaders of the Liberal, NDP and Green parties all responded to our questionnaire stating that if elected they would put nuclear on a level playing field with other electricity producers by preventing nuclear cost overruns from being passed onto taxpayers and consumers. If they stick to their promise, this will mean that nuclear projects will never get built. Help us get Hudak to agree to this principle.

In addition to distributing leaflets, we’re also inviting people to download The Electricity Consumer Protection Pledge (http://www.cleanairalliance.org/files/nuke%20pledge%20letter.pdf), and ask all election candidates to sign it.
