Description
The Rwanda Procurement team is responsible for over $800,000 in spend each year
across over 1,000 transactions and is responsible for all operational goods and
service purchasing on behalf of over 100,000 smallholder farmers. This team
purchases all items needed to keep our program running.

The
Inputs Team is responsible for procuring agricultural inputs (seed, fertilizer,
solar lights, other necessary items). This entails working with local and
international suppliers to collect price quotes, negotiating to get the best
price, ensuring the correct agreements are in place, and that deliveries to our
warehouses are made on time. The Inputs team serves One Acre Fund operations in
Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda, so the scope of work is truly
international and involves understanding the different needs and available
supply in all of these countries.

Procurement/Inputs Officer to provide support to the Rwanda Procurement and
Inputs teams in their daily operations.

Responsibilities

- Support
to the Rwanda Inputs and Procurement teams - Conducting
market research related to operational goods/service, new seed or
fertilizer types - Providing
support on project execution (for example, visiting suppliers or
conducting field research) - Maintaining
long-term business relationships with OAF suppliers - Working
directly with our clearing agent in Rwanda to clear goods including
support at the boarder as needed - Assisting
Inputs and procurement teams in their daily operations
- Supporting
Quality Assurance Operations - Picking
up test results from testing facilities - Shipping
agricultural samples around East Africa as needed - Quality-checking
goods at the point of loading and off-loading as needed including seed,
fertilizer, plastics products, and other agricultural and
non-agricultural inputs
- Execute
pick-ups and accurate documentation - Ensuring
on time pick-up of goods from suppliers - Collecting
all documentation needed to support the purchasing processes - Controlling
loading and off-loading of goods - Providing
support on delivery to requestors
