We are seeking a
smart and dedicated self–starter to be a Global M&E Associate based in
either Kigali or Nairobi, to support our operations in the region and take the
lead on spearheading cross-cutting M&E-related initiatives. Overall, the
M&E Associate will be responsible for using data to continually improve our
operations, and impact on our customers.

General
Responsibilities

  • Goal–oriented
    survey design, field testing of survey instruments, and revision.
  • Work
    with field-based staff to complete their objectives of collecting,
    analyzing and reporting on data to both understand and improve program
    performance.
  • Investigate
    areas of cross-cutting concern (such as developing resiliency indicators
    and better understanding our impact on youth and gender) and propose and
    implement studies from inception through report writing.
  • Consolidate
    what is known internally about our client farmers and impact, and update
    and liaise with our external relations team. Identify holes in what we
    know and suggest solutions.
  • Support
    our field team with data analysis and report writing as needed.
  • Innovation
    on new methods such as tablet–based data collection
  • Data
    analysis to draw both early and final conclusions and actionable
    recommendations.

Qualifications We are seeking an
exceptional professional with 1 to 5+ years of work experience, and a
demonstrated long–term passion for international development.

We are looking for a

levels of impact and scale. This is a competitive posting for a career-track
role with minimum initial commitment of two years. Candidates who fit the
following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Strong
    work experiences. Examples include a demanding professional work
    experience, or successful entrepreneurial experience (e.g. starting a
    field program in a developing country, leading a conference, starting a
    business, solid Peace Corps accomplishments).
  • Prior
    field–based M&E experience .
  • Academic
    or professional experience designing and implementing evaluations/research
    and analyzing findings
  • Solid
    quantitative skills
  • Leadership
    experience at work, or outside of work.
  • Ability
    to multi-task well and meet deadlines consistently
  • Positive
    attitude oriented towards personal growth and learning and ability to take
    feedback well.
  • Logical
    and structured thinker with clear and compelling written communication
    style.
  • Top–performing
    undergraduate record (please include GPA and test scores on your resume).
    Master’s degree is not required.
  • Humility
    and personal stability. We have a fantastic and likeable team. We are

  • A
    willingness to commit to living in East Africa for at least two years –
    this is a long–term, career–track role. The ideal candidate will have at
    least one year demonstrated experience working in the developing world,
    although this is not a strict requirement.

    English required.
