smallholding farmers and helps them to grow their way out of hunger and
poverty. We provide farmers with a “market bundle” that includes
education, finance, seed and fertilizer, and market access. Our program is
proven impactful – every year, we weigh thousands of harvests and measure more
than 100% average gain in farm income per acre.  We are growing quickly.
In seven years, the Rwanda program has grown to serve over 100,000 farm
families with more than 1,000 full-time field staff.
Function
Description


The Business Operations department is responsible for all key client data
management and works closely with our core operations on a daily basis. The
Business Operations Project Specialist will lead various key departmental
projects including the transition of the program to direct farmer mobile
repayments. The Business Operations Project Specialist will take an important
role in streamlining and improving processes such as: client refunds, fraud
tracking and recovery, and performance indicators.
 Duties
and Responsibilities
  • Oversee
    major processes and ensure accurate and timely execution of critical team
    tasks, together with the Business Operations Director and Client Data
    Manager:
    • Contract
      data entry and quality control
    • Distribution
      schedule data entry and quality control
    • Repayment
      and revenue data entry and quality control
    • Client
      blacklisting and repayment rollovers
    • Cross-departmental
      trackers such as Contracts & Distribution
  • Take
    an active role in proactively calendaring and communicating key activities
    for the Business Operations team, in liaison with the Systems team
  • Develop
    a keen understanding of Tubura’s overall operations and how Business
    Operations’ activities can be executed and planned strategically,
    effectively, and efficiently
  • Meet
    regularly with Field Operations, Audit & HR leadership to maintain a
    relationship of ongoing feedback, service, and communication
  • Oversee
    departmental budgeting and related communications with the Finance team
  • Develop
    and effectively execute the clients refunds process, including trainings
    for various teams
  • Liaise
    with Operations Innovations department and the Systems team to ensure a
    smooth transition to mobile repayment as it relates to Business Operations
    data accuracy, timeliness, availability, and reporting
  • Process
    of tracking amounts owed by field staff for missing inputs or missing
    repayment, and subsequent recovery or write-off
  • Changes
    to sites such as splitting, combining, hiring and firing and related data
    implications
  • Work
    closely with Field Operations, Audit & HR to improve and streamline
    communications between these departments related to audit findings and
    employment status of Field Officers
  • Implement
    an effective tracking system for key performance indicators for the
    organization and the Business Operations department
  • Other
    important systems projects, as
    required                                                      
    Requirements
  • Demonstrated
    computer skills in email, internet usage, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel,
    Access
  • Proactive
    problem solver
  • Extremely
    organized individual, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
    with liaison across multiple departments
  • Integrity
    and a positive attitude
  • Demonstrates
    high quality work with a strong attention to detail
  • A
    willingness to commit to living in Western rural Rwanda for at least two
    years
  • Language:
    Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda. French desirable.
  • Passionate
    about serving smallholder farmers
Desired:
  • Relevant
    work experiences. Examples include: demanding professional work experience
    in business, bank or NGO, or a successful entrepreneurial experience.
  • Top-performing
    undergraduate degree in economics, business, finance, accounting or other
    relevant fields from a recognized University (please include grades and
    test scores on your resume)
  • Leadership
    experience at work, or outside of work. Experience managing other people.
  • Proven
    ability to set and meet targets on the job
