invited from suitably qualified staff members for the above post in the office
of the Ombudsman, Gaborone.
Salary: D3 P207 564
– P 229 152 per annum
BENEFITS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University of Botswana or recognized university
EXPERIENCE:
•Four (4) years’ experience investigating maladministration or in the legal
field
Main Purpose of Job:
To investigate moderately complex cases of maladministration and violation of
human rights
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
•Investigates moderately complex cases of maladministration & human rights
violations
•Consults complaints and makes appropriate responses
•Attends and examines witnesses
•Conducts public education awareness campaigns on the role and functions of the
Ombudsman
•Recommends remedial action to Ministries/Departments to rectify injustice
arising from maladministration.
•Mediates to facilitate amicable resolution of complaints
•Directs any person to furnish information either orally, in writing, on
affidavit, on oath, and/or directs any person to produce any document in
his/her possession or control which has a bearing on the matter being
investigated.
•Audits supervisees’ investigation files
•Recommends closure of files
•Recommends issuance of subpoena to Principal Legal Investigator
