The Odiyan Center is seeking volunteers for outdoor landscaping work and gardening, indoor maintenance, foundry work, cooking, and kitchen management.
You receive housing, vegetarian meals, living allowance of $150 per month.
We will train you in new skills or share your own experience!
1. Help with both the finishing construction and maintenance of temples and buildings on the 144 acres of parks, gardens, forests and ponds. No experience required. We will train, although those with construction and other trade skills are appreciated!
2. Landscaping needs include large-tree planting, orchard pruning and maintenance, weeding and irrigation. No experience required. We will train, or contribute your previous experience and skills to our outdoor projects.
Gain practical, hands-on experience while living in beautiful, rural coastal Northern California amongst a caring, supportive community that fosters inner growth.
You do not need to be Buddhist or have any religious affiliation to apply, but please have a sincere interest.

Living and working at Odiyan is not for the faint of heart or body. Please be someone who enjoys physical labor, is flexible and positive in attitude and is comfortable with the outdoors and simple living accommodations. Housing is 2 people to a room, each room with an outdoor deck.
This is challenging, meaningful work in one of the most spectacular Tibetan Buddhist centers in the world. You will merge work for the benefit of all humanity with opportunity to develop your potential while living in a community of people dedicated to spiritual development and self sufficiency through work.
Classes such as Tibetan yoga and discussions on Buddhist topics are also offered free to all resident volunteers.
Minimum age is 22. We cannot accept children or pets. Couples are welcome to apply. Six month commitment, includes one month trial period, 10 day winter break in December.
