Newcastle University is delighted to announce the following country specific scholarship – available to high achieving students applying for entry onto undergraduate degree programmes and commencing their studies in September 2012.

Newcastle University US Scholarships

The NU US Scholarship is a merit-based award intended for US undergraduate students who plan to study at Newcastle University and commence their studies in September 2012. Two partial tuition fee scholarships are available, each with a value of £2,250 for the first year of study. Eligible applicants will be considered based on the information given on their UCAS application form and the scholarship application form (process detailed below).

Eligibility
To be considered for this award, applicants must:
• Be a national of (or permanently domiciled in) the USA
• Have applied through UCAS by Wednesday, 30 June 2012 and been offered a place to study for 2012/13 entry
• Have already accepted or will accept Newcastle University as their first choice university with UCAS
• Have been assessed as international (overseas) for fees purposes
• Not be in receipt of any other fully-funded or partially-funded scholarship or sponsorship

Please complete the application form electronically and in accordance with the Undergraduate Scholarship Regulations, which are provided at the end of the application form. Newcastle University Law Scholarships
The NU Law Scholarship is a merit-based award intended for Canadian undergraduate students who will study for the Law LLB Honours degree (UCAS code: M101) at Newcastle University, commencing their studies in September 2012. This partial tuition fee scholarship has a value of £6,000 across three years of study. The chosen recipient will be awarded a partial tuition fee scholarship of £2,000 in Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the programme. Eligible applicants will be considered based on the information given on their UCAS application form and the scholarship application form (process detailed below).

Eligibility
To be considered for this award, applicants must:
• Be a national of (or permanently domiciled in) Canada
• Have applied through UCAS by Wednesday, 30 June 2012 and been offered a place to study on the Law LLB Honours degree for 2012/13 entry
• Have already accepted or will accept Newcastle University as their first choice university with UCAS
• Have been assessed as international (overseas) for fees purposes
• Not be in receipt of any other fully-funded or partially-funded scholarship or sponsorship
• Have already achieved or will achieve a minimum academic average of 85% in the Grade 12 Certificates or Diplomas awarded by provinces on the completion of secondary school, in no fewer than six Grade 12 courses.

NB: The award of a degree in a subject other than law is not a qualifying condition of eligibility for the award. However, the scholarship will be awarded on academic merit, and in candidates possessing an honours degree from a Canadian University or other institution the degree classification will be a relevant criterion and may be advantageous.
