The National E-Health
Transition Authority (NEHTA) was established by the Council of Australian
Governments (COAG) to develop better ways of electronically collecting and
securely exchanging health information. NEHTA is the lead organisation
supporting the national vision for eHealth in Australia.

NEHTA is currently seeking people with a desire
to make a difference to health
outcomes, who are passionate about the use of eHealth to meet these goals and
have the relevant experience to deliver solutions in a highly complex
stakeholder and technical environment.
The
purpose of this position is to support the Chief Information Officer in
managing the ICT Portfolio of Projects to ensure that the portfolio is based on
prioritised initiatives that deliver the business outcomes required for NEHTA.
A broad range of skills are required including analytical to gather
information, scheduling to define high level annual project schedules as well
as financial planning to present capital forecasts and operational budget
impacts. The role requires a collaborative approach working across the business
divisions.

Accountabilities
include:

- Manage
the ICT Portfolio selection process based on prioritisation of
initiatives. This includes the annual planning process. - Maintain
a baseline portfolio and evaluate new initiatives against the baseline for
Executive approval consideration. - Creation
of the Initiative Proposal and Project Brief documents via means of
facilitated workshops as required. - Plan
portfolio from a budget and resource perspective, and perform scheduling
based on dependencies and constraint management. - Identify
and highlight portfolio risks and issues to CIO and PMO. - Champion
the Portfolio Management process and helping teams to apply the associated
concepts. - Transition
high level planning to project managers to manage each project from
Project Start-up phase onwards. - Present
the weekly portfolio status report to the CISO based on consolidated
project status reports.
To
be successful you will have:

- Tertiary
qualifications in Computer Science or a related discipline - Project
Management Certified (PMI, Prince2) - Strong
planning and problem-solving/analysis skills - Strong
interpersonal skills, written and oral communication, attention to detail
and follow-through skills - A
good understanding of the current IT systems environment and development
paths - Experience
managing multiple projects simultaneously, through the pre-project phases
of Idea, Business Case and Project Initiation - Experience
with financial management of Capital Funding (Capex) including forecasting
and tracking spend to date - An
understanding of the resource availability of technical resources who are
allocated to BAU and Projects and forecast project demands - Management
of dependencies and escalation for decision making - A
proactive and collaborative approach with the ability to manage
relationships across the business
